Caritas Diocese of Brentwood was launched in November 2018. The Diocese is diverse, vibrant, and full of dedicated volunteers running projects which bring to life the Gospel mandate to recognise and serve Christ in the poor and those on the edges.

Our Diocesan Caritas helps promote over 70 Diocesan groups on the website – enabling those in need of their provision to contact them, and potential volunteers to offer their services. The last 18 months have also seen the beginnings of building a network of support for those working in similar projects across Essex and East London, who did not always know of each other’s existence.

At a time when many projects are facing greatly increased demands, Caritas Diocese of Brentwood is seeking to employ a Development Co-ordinator, to take this work forward by continuing to build and deepen links between projects, as well as offering training and resources, helping to share information about grants, updating our website and Social Media, and working nationally with CitizensUK and “Together for the Common Good,” and locally with Caritas members based within Brentwood Diocese – the Brentwood Catholic Children’s Society and Caritas Anchor House. The vision for Caritas Diocese of Brentwood is that it is intergenerational, and so the post also involves working closely with Brentwood Catholic Youth Service.
