St Francis of Assisi parish in Stratford saw the parishioners taking part in an Advent appeal.

Parishioners were asked to hang pairs of socks, filling them with toiletries such as toothpaste, shampoo, body wash etc so this could all be donated to their local homeless.

The doors leading into the Church were then transformed into a large fireplace, where the ‘Christmas stockings’ were hung and filled to the brim.

The response from the parish was astounding and the St Francis community had over 300 pairs of socks collected within the first two weeks of Advent.
