The NEWway Project was set up in 2013 in order to support the rising numbers of homeless people in the London Borough of Newham. Our team works alongside specialist support agencies, hundreds of local volunteers and churches across the borough to provide a winter night shelter and year round advocacy and daytime supports services for local rough sleepers.

In spring 2015, our project was awarded the prestigious ‘Excellence Standard’ Housing Justice Quality Mark in recognition of the high standard of our work. We continue striving to provide the best possible care for our guests.

We are looking for volunteers with a heart for the homeless to:

  • help with cooking
  • spend time with our guests
  • help set up
  • stay overnight
  • organise rotas & roles etc.

If you are interested in doing an evening shift (from 6:30pm – 9pm) or overnight shift (from 9pm – 8am), please send an enquiry to [email protected]. We can then work out which night works out best for you and put you in touch with the coordinator for that night.
