Church Action on Poverty, in partnership with Christian Aid, has launched “26 in 26”, a new initiative inviting Churches to take 26 social justice based practical actions in 2026. The campaign aims to turn faith into action and embed social justice in the everyday lives of parishes and their communities.

Challenging churches to act on their faith and the values of the gospel, the initiative takes the form of an A3 sized poster that can be put up in your church’s porch or in the church hall, where you can tick off each action as complete it.

The actions range from writing to MPs and hosting community meals, to running pre-made educational courses or using the Christian Aid prayer diary.

CEO of Church Action on Poverty, Liam Purcell says:

“Many churches are doing incredible work to alleviate challenges in their neighbourhoods. The ‘26 in 26’ project is about helping churches to deepen their understanding of the injustices that cause these issues in the first place, and to help bring about change. We’ve been delighted to work with Christian Aid on this, to combine international and UK-specific issues. The response from churches has been brilliant, with more than 160 signing up already, and we’re looking forward to working with churches throughout the year.”
