Calais Light to Close in December

In a statement from the board of trustees, they said:
Since 2017, Calais Light has been a beacon of hope, compassion, and solidarity- thanks to you. Together, we’ve supported thousands of refugees and asylum seekers, from Calais to the UK, delivering vital aid, integration programmes, and heartfelt welcomes.
The decision was made after “deep reflection” and the upcoming retirement of some of the charity’s dedicated trustees. They added that, despite their closure, they have “arranged the protection of our Clacton English Language service” by merging the team with RAMA (Refugee Asylum & Migrant Action).
Caritas Brentwood would like to thank the past and present trustees and volunteers of Calais Light for their hard work, determination and dedication to serve those in need.
