The inaugural Catholic Diocese Environment Conference, held last year in Westminster, marked the first inter-diocesan event in England and Wales focused exclusively on environmental issues. The conference planning group has now brought out a new booklet to help showcase what is available for parishes.
New Parish Ecological Resources Booklet

Last year’s conference was a resounding success, as representatives from nearly every diocese in England and Wales came together to focus on a single issue. Representatives included property and finance directors and diocesan environmental leads – alongside academics, researchers and private sector directors. Throughout the day, delegates shared research, best practices, and strategies for ecological stewardship and reducing carbon emissions across church properties.
A key takeaway was the need for clearer access to Catholic resources and networks that support parishes and dioceses in this important work. In response, the DEL Planning Group has created a practical booklet to help Catholic communities understand what’s available and how to make the most of these resources.
