For over four decades Quest has been the visible face of pastoral support for LGBT+ Catholics in England and Scotland. With approval from Cardinal Nichols, we continue to work towards a mutual understanding between the LGBT+ community and the wider church.

Quest maintains a network of local groups throughout the country. The groups offer a supportive fellowship of LGBT+ Catholics, their families and friends. They organise social events as well as opportunities for joint worship and spiritual retreats.

The Quest website and the regular bulletin provide information and an exchange of opinions about issues affecting LGBT+ Catholics, and supports the exploration of their roles in the Church.

On a national level, we organise an annual conference that brings LGBT+ Catholics from across the country for a long weekend of fellowship, reflection and stimulating input by well-known speakers.

We are a volunteer run organisation. We hold regular pilgrimages and retreats as well as the annual weekend conference referred to above.

We have volunteers who assist at conference for example: preparing the liturgy, supporting with music, organising social activities over the weekend, meeting and greeting delegates and offering general assistance to the Conference Organiser. Our annual conference takes place at a different venue each year. Volunteers for this activity need to be available to work with the Conference Organiser a month before the conference which is usually held in July/August. A cheerful disposition and patience and stamina are essential qualities that are required for this work. As our members are adults, many of a mature age, a DBS is not required. Ideally successful candidates should be 21+ in age.
