St Peter’s Catholic Primary School in Billericay recently hosted its first-ever Catholic Social Teaching (CST) Showcase, bringing together pupils, families, and staff to celebrate the principles at the heart of Catholic life.

The hall was filled with work from across the school, and each class offered an interactive activity, allowing families to experience Catholic Social Teaching in action.

Highlights from each year group included:

• Reception – Human Dignity: pupils created artwork of someone special to them, celebrating the value of every person

• Year 1 – Stewardship: families planted seeds, reflecting on care for creation

• Year 2 – Participation: interactive games encouraged inclusion and working together

• Year 3 – Peace: children crafted paper doves, symbolising reconciliation and harmony

• Year 4 – The Common Good: families helped tidy outdoor areas, caring for the shared environment

• Year 5 – Distributive Justice: an auction game explored fairness and global distribution of resources

• Year 6 – Preferential Option for the Poor & Subsidiarity: pupils role-played Bible stories to bring these principles to life

The showcase was a joyful celebration of faith in action, demonstrating pupils’ understanding of Catholic Social Teaching and their commitment to living it out.
